NATS Artist Awards (NATSAA)

"Throughout its history, the purpose of [NATSAA] has been to select, through a series of elimination rounds on the district, regional, and national levels, singers whose artistry indicates that they are ready for a professional career and to encourage them toward that goal with a cash prize and the opportunity for performance engagements."

NATSAA:  National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Awards.   The first round will take place at the regional level.  The Cal-Western Region NATSAA to be generously hosted by San Diego State University on October 12th, 2019.  Thank you to Laurinda Nikkel for making those arrangements!  One winner from each of the 14 regions will move on to compete at the national semifinals and finals which will take place as part of the NATS Winter Workshop in New York City, January 10-12, 2020. Abridged Details:

Deadline to Apply:      9, 2019 (before registering, be sure you are available to participate in the national semifinals and finals January 10-12, 2020).

Entry Fee: $75

Prizes:  The winner receives over 13,000 in cash and prizes and sings a concert at the 56th NATS National Conference to be held in Knoxville, Tennessee, June 26-30, 2020 (not to mention the experience gained and the exposure received by singing for so many vocal professionals). 

Age:  Applicant must be at least 21 but not more than 35 years of age on the deadline entry date. 

Teacher:  must be a NATS member in good standing
